Start at the conductor’s microphone.

Your baseline is the sound at the microphone. It begins dry unless you add reverb at the baseline. Moving the instrument back changes its wetness, tone and dynamics relative to that starting point; the selected room stays the same.

Native effects, with room to adjust.

Use the reverb, compressor and EQ tabs in simple mode, or expand their controls. Each effect has an Adjust Baseline subsection for the microphone position. Choose gentler or stronger compression and EQ, and dial volume falloff from none to a more dramatic distance change.

Keep the result understandable.

The written DIY guide reports the current position and effect settings so you can recreate a similar chain yourself. Save complete setups or individual effect presets, and select an instrument icon to match the part.
