TRACK 1 AUDIO / WORKFLOW COMPARISON

A HoRNet Harmonics
alternative.

Harmonic Bloom Lite is a free option if you want focused Second and Third controls. HoRNet Harmonics offers a broader harmonic editing approach. Choose the controls that fit your track.

Two stages or a harmonic editor?

HoRNet Harmonics is a free Chebyshev-based waveshaper. Its ten generators have individual amplitude and phase controls. That gives it a different scope from a processor focused on Second and Third. HoRNet’s page also describes a separate paid Harmonics Pro product; the free edition is the comparison here.

Harmonic Bloom Lite has two main harmonic controls, Classic serial processing, Harmonics gain, Mix and Solo. It is designed around balancing those stages in the context of a track. It does not provide a ten-generator amplitude-and-phase editor, so it is not a replacement for every HoRNet setting.

When is Harmonic Bloom Lite worth trying?

Try Lite if your task is to make a few direct decisions about harmonic color: how much Second, how much Third, and how strongly the generated branch should sit beside the clean signal. You can switch either stage off and compare settings with A/B.

For example, use a guitar phrase with clear attacks. Bring up Second alone, return to the starting point, then try Third. Adjust Mix after choosing a direction rather than changing several controls together. The second-vs-third listening guide explains this approach in more detail.

If your task depends on individually setting many harmonic levels and phases, that is outside Lite’s scope. A smaller control set can be useful for one task and insufficient for another; the intended job matters more than the number of knobs.

What does the free download include?

Lite includes 8× oversampling, host automation, A/B and project recall. Harmonics gain adjusts the generated branch. Solo auditions that branch, which can include fundamental energy in Classic mode; it does not isolate only added overtones.

Download Lite directly without an email address, account or activation. Mac AUv2/VST3 and Windows x64 VST3 are available as previews. Intel Mac is verified, while native Apple Silicon and Windows DAW testing is still pending. Harmonic Bloom does not currently have an AAX build; check format requirements before choosing.

Does Premium change the comparison?

Harmonic Bloom Premium is a one-time $10.99 USD purchase. It adds Bold mode, parallel routing and six factory presets. These expand Harmonic Bloom’s workflow but do not turn it into HoRNet’s ten-generator editor. Existing settings and presets from one developer’s plugin do not transfer to the other.

Compare the Lite and Premium editions, listen to our Raw, Second 50/100 and Third 50/100 examples, then try the free edition on a spare session. The recordings demonstrate Harmonic Bloom only, not HoRNet.
